Registration

We have received the following important information which you should read and print for your review.    REMEMBER:  You have not yet registered for the Games – you have merely indicated your interest in attending to the Team Illinois Manager Team.  You will need to complete the ONLINE REGISTRATION (INCLUDING HOUSING REQUEST) using the information provided below.  As I receive more info (which I may likely do within the next week), I will pass along to you as soon as possible.  

 

2008 GAMES ONLINE REGISTRATION OPENING SOON  

 

Online registration will open on Tuesday, February 19, 2008 at 9:00AM Eastern Time.  As always, register as early as you can….the housing goes fast.

 The Housing Connection will once again serve as the official Registration and Housing Bureau.  Once the site goes live, anyone experiencing any challenges while registering, please contact THC at:

Listed below are the Games Sponsored Hotels – you may want to check them out online before you begin your registration.  Remember, by booking your housing thru the Housing Connection, you automatically receive your Transportation pass to use the bus system to various venues.  If you make your own hotel reservation thru different means, you may have to purchase your own pass (if you choose to travel the city that way).   Further information is available on our website in the InfoShare presentation.

MEAL PLAN

As posted on the Games Web site, breakfast and/or dinner meal plans (Sunday, July 13th thru Tuesday, July 15thare being offered.  Breakfast will be served on the first floor of the David Lawrence Convention Center (with easy access to the Games shuttle hub and DLCC activities) from 6:30AM to 9:30AM and dinner from 4:30PM to 7:30PM.  Prices for these plans are as follows (Child: 4–12 years, Adult: 13 years and over): 

 

Breakfast Only: Child-$44.25; Adult-$59.00

Dinner Only: Child-$75.00; Adult-$100.00

Breakfast & Dinner: Child-$119.25; Adult-$159.00  

 

MEDICAL ELIGIBILITY

 

Recipients who have been transplanted on or before January 11, 2008 will be eligible to compete in this year’s Games with medical approval from the recipient’s physician. The medical waiver has been updated and will be available for you to download from the Team Illinois website.   We will announce the date that they are due (and to who on Team Illinois to send it to) within the next couple of months.   

 

HIT A HOME RUN FOR ORGAN DONATION WITH THE PITTSBURGH PIRATES 

 

The National Kidney Foundation will be hosting a special night at PNC Park to welcome all those in attendance at the NKF U.S. Transplant Games and to highlight the gift of life for Pirates fans. Join us for Organ Donor Awareness Night on Friday, July 11th at 7:05PM as the Pirates host the St. Louis Cardinals, and stay after the game for a fantastic Zambelli fireworks display. Transplant athletes will be spotlighted on the field and throughout the game.  A portion of each ticket will go to support the National Kidney Foundation's U.S. Transplant Games. SCHEDULE UPDATE The cycling events during the Games have been rescheduled for Tuesday, July, 15, 2008 in North Park. STAR SEARCH (AUDITION TAPES)It's not too late to submit tapes/cd's/performance materials to us!!! We have extended the deadline for all talent submissions to Friday, March 7, 2008.  We are currently scouting for transplant recipients, living donors and/or donor family members to sing or otherwise perform at the Opening and Closing ceremonies and other programs such as the Donor Recognition Ceremony and Living Donor Recognition Event being held as a part of the NKF 2008 U.S. Transplant Games.
